                • Being a mom is the hardest job in the world. It’s a cliche, but one for a good reason… it’s the truth. And we feel it every day. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

The Hardest Job

The Hardest Job

It’s so overwhelming. Some days I wake up to my alarm blaring and just close my eyes.

I have an infinite to-do list. The kiddos need breakfast. The urgent project at work. The husband, the grandparents, dinner, laundry, and the list goes on (sleep… hah, what’s that?). It’s a Spartan effort just to make sure everyone stays alive. It feels like it’s all on my shoulders.

With all the craziness, one of the first things that go out the window are healthy, balanced meals. Most kids (and us moms) just aren’t home at regular meal times. I’ll be the first to admit that I go to the place-that-must-not-be-named… the drive-thru.

It’s unreasonable to expect us to be able to juggle the entire day, have snacks ready after school, and then a three-course dinner ready in the evening.

With that, I’d need a professional kitchen and chefs working around the clock (oh but let me dream!).

What we feed our children is a controversial and frustrating topic for a lot of us.

But at the rate kids develop, what we feed them really matters for their physical, mental, and emotional health. It even affects their behavior.

I try so hard to give them healthy food but I’m not perfect and neither are they. Sometimes they’re grumpy. Sometimes I’m grumpy. Sometimes I just can’t. So I looked into what could be better.

All my friends are going through the same thing. Every time we get together, it’s like a mini Dr. Phil therapy session.

So many of them swore by kids vitamins that I decided to give it a try. I started asking around for recommendations and First Day kept popping up.

Friends mentioned how the founder, Alice, designed kids vitamins to help other women like her, and I loved that. Once my five-year-old, Harry, started taking them, things actually got easier. After a few weeks, I was honestly surprised by how much a difference I felt in our daily life.

My boy loved them. I forgot about them a few mornings (it was before my coffee!) and he made sure to remind me.

It was amazing…I even felt like he was less picky about other foods. He was on much better behavior and I could just tell he had an easier time focusing on things.

Honestly, I felt so much better too. It’s not that everything magically got easier, but I finally had some help in my crazy life!

Still, I had some lingering questions about vitamins.

There were still a few simple questions on my mind. Does he even need vitamins? How do I know if the vitamin is doing anything?

After doing some research, it turns out that almost all kids need extra nutrition. The best way to get nutrients is still through food like fresh fruits and vegetables.

But the problem is that kids are surrounded by junk food everywhere. At school, on the go, on television commercials… the list goes on.

A study conducted by The CDC said that 93% of kids in the U.S. don’t get enough daily fruits and veggies. It’s near impossible for kids to eat the way they should.

And I was confused about what exactly vitamins do. It turns out that they help with many things like immune support, bone growth, and brain development, but a lot of it is hard to see. I learned that it can take weeks or even months to see or feel a difference.

The body has to change first, and the most important parts change over time.

It’s unusual what I saw with my kiddo but not unheard of. Sometimes it can take a little longer but the benefits are long lasting.

What's Good About First Day?

What's Good About First Day?

I’m a research obsessed mom so you bet I did my homework on this one. The more I read, the better I felt.

From articles, I found out that First Day started by investigating over 35,000 studies to develop their vitamin (I’ve met my match with them!). They work with Harvard and Yale pediatricians and nutritionists so I knew smart minds worked on this.

It was easy to tell First Day made their vitamins with health at the center after looking through their ingredients.

It’s not filled with chemicals you can’t pronounce but instead with organic fruits and vegetables. It had none of the artificial colors, sugars, flavors that I saw in other brands.

Something that really mattered to me was not getting a vitamin sugar bomb. Our kids are getting enough of that everywhere else in their life!

They use up to 80% less sugar than the other brands I saw, and that’s definitely something I can get behind.

One thing that fascinated me is that they did extensive research to understand what our children are most lacking in their daily lives.

First Day specifically formulated with those vitamins to make sure they get exactly what they need. I felt like this was such a thoughtful approach to make sure the vitamins fit into our daily lives.

Want To Try?

I’ve always been a skeptic, but I’m so glad my friends helped me discover First Day. I want to pass it on and share my experience with you.

Things are still crazy in my growing household and I wouldn’t trade it for the world (okay, fine… maybe sometimes). But I found a partner in them for one of my biggest worries – my boy’s health. I couldn’t be happier.

The best thing about it? It’s all for less than $1/day.
